Numbers wizard Richard Charnin has crunched the numbers for the 2016 Democratic Primaries, adjusting for discrepancies in exit polling and other factors and in so doing he has determined that Bernie Sanders and not Hillary Clinton won the most votes in the 2016 Democratic Primaries and therefore should be the rightful nominee.
From Charnin’s Blog:
This model estimates Sanders’ True Vote. These are the base case assumptions:
1.Sanders won the caucuses with 63.9% with votes estimated based on 2014 turnout.
2.Clinton won the exit polled primaries with a 51.7% share.
3. Sanders won 75% of uncounted provisional ballots
4. 10% of Sanders’ votes flipped to Clinton in primaries that were not exit polled.
He documents all the methodology and data on the site. I’ve always been more of a language guy than a math guy, but my review of Charnin’s study left me feeling pretty convinced. Check it out here. If he’s right, and I think he is, we should all be revolting against this massive injustice and flagrant slap in the face of Democracy.
